Jenny Valois Biography

Valois is a 1999 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a 2002 graduate of the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.  While in law school Valois received the Cali Award for Statutory Interpretation, among other honors.

Valois' Louisiana practice consists of matters involving family law, divorce, custody, workers’ compensation, administrative law, wills and successions and general business matters.  She is a partner in Barber Valois Law Firm. Valois is a former associate of the Washington, D.C. office of Dombroff, Gilmore, Jaques & French, which specializes in aviation litigation; where she represented corporate clients in civil litigation and governmental compliance matters. Prior to that Valois represented plaintiffs in multi-state and federal litigation against pharmaceutical manufacturers in South Carolina.

Valois is in the legal community and is a member of multiple State and local bar associations.  She is a former two-time Chair of the Louisiana Association for Justice Workers’ Compensation Section and a former Chair of the Louisiana Workers’ Advocates group, of which she is a charter member. She is the recipient of multiple awards and recognition for advocacy on behalf of Louisiana’s injured workers, including the 2015 Louisiana Association for Justice Public Service Award.Most recently, she was honored to receive the 2024 Mark Riley Leadership Award from Louisiana Workers’ Advocates.

Valois is licensed to practice law in all state courts in Louisiana and the United States Supreme Court. She places the needs of her clients and the ethics of her profession above all else.  She genuinely loves the practice of law and helping people.
