Jan Barber established the Barber Law Firm in 2001, emphasizing workers' compensation cases for Acadiana's injured workers. Jennifer Barber Valois, her daughter, bolstered the firm's expertise in 2007, leading us to rebrand as Barber Valois Law Firm, LLC in 2021. While rooted in advocating for Louisiana's workforce, we also navigate family law intricacies like divorce and child custody. Our commitment ensures clients receive rightful benefits and justice in Louisiana's specialized workers' compensation courts. Our Founder

Barber is a 1976 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a 1992 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert School of Law at Louisiana State University. Barber was an elementary school teacher for eleven years in the Louisiana Public School System prior to attending law school.

Barber’s practice focuses on workers’ compensation and personal injury claims. In 2001 she founded Barber Law Firm, a firm specializing in workers’ compensation, personal injury and employment matters.
